Windows Live Messenger Beta 8 (MSN 8)
Well I finally got the invitation to join the new MSN Windows Live Messenger Beta 8, at first it looked pretty and matches Windows Live Mail very well. To be honest there doesn’t really seem to be any worthwhile feature to make the upgrade worthwhile.
I understand that Windows Live Messenger is in Beta so isn’t quite stable, but I can get it to crash when ever I want just be a set series of events… I have no idea why this hasn’t been sorted and surprised that the technicians who work on Windows Live Messenger haven’t noticed this before the new Messenger service was put into Beta.
Anyway to put the end to the story I have uninstalled it and carry on to use the good old Windows Messenger 7.5
If you are interested in Beta testing MSN Windows Live Messenger 8 you can sign up to be a Windows Live Beta tester and be able to download MSN Windows Live Messenger Beta 8 once you get the invite. Here you can find out all about the other Windows Live features and products available.Happy testing

Hi, I really liked the BETA msn. I think that the design should be better because in the 7.5 version, the design had much more style in it. You should creater boarders arould the side. The boarders could be a zigzag type. I really liked it.

well, personally i prefer the 7.5 version..as it seems to be rather more reliable the newer version does look slightly different but hasnt really been upgraded functions wise..you would get more out of just adding pluggins such as msn plus..as it does have a lot more then just changing the skin colour of the program.

I so wanted to keep Windows Messenger Beta 8.0 as it really did appeal to me. My children have msn 7.5 and they love it as do their friends but I did prefer Beta 8.0. Sadly I encountered a problem which prevented me from accessing any net.passport site including signing into msn and the only way I finally was able to overcome this was to Restore my computer to the point I first installed Beta 8.0.If anyone knows of a loophole which prevents this from happening, I would definately reinstall Beta 8.0 but in the meantime its back to 7.5 as it was really frustating keep going to restore points I know were working fine at the time, yet when I tried signing in to beta 8.0, windows messenger or even msn browser I kept getting the same error message “We could not sign you in to msn at this time……..” with the error code’8004888d….P.S..The design for version 7.5 I feel is fantastic for my children, I did however prefer Beta..Loved it but had to lose it im afraid…..nicky
